HEIC to JPG Converter

Convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG instantly in your browser. Files never leave your device.

🔒 Your files never leave your device

How it works

1. Drop or select your HEIC/HEIF files from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

2. Choose output format — JPG for universal compatibility, PNG for lossless quality.

3. Download your converted photos instantly. Multiple files are bundled in a ZIP.

The conversion uses a WebAssembly-based HEIC decoder running entirely in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded to any server — they stay on your device from start to finish.

What is HEIC and why convert to JPG?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11 (2017). It produces files roughly 50% smaller than JPG at the same quality, which saves storage space on your iPhone. The format uses the HEVC video codec for image compression.

The problem: HEIC isn't universally supported outside the Apple ecosystem. Windows PCs, Android devices, many websites, email clients, and social media platforms can't open HEIC files directly. When you transfer photos from your iPhone to a Windows PC or try to upload them to a website, you'll often see an error or a blank file.

Converting to JPG gives you universal compatibility. JPG works on every device, every operating system, every website. Our converter uses a WebAssembly decoder (the same technology browsers use for high-performance code) to decode HEIC locally in your browser — no server needed, no privacy risk.

FAQ

Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?

Apple uses HEIC by default because it produces files about 50% smaller than JPG at the same quality, saving storage space. You can change this in Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible, but this means larger files.

Is it safe to convert my photos here?

Yes. All conversion happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your photos are never uploaded to any server. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet — the converter will still work.

Will converting to JPG lose quality?

There is minimal quality loss when converting from HEIC to JPG, as both are lossy formats. Use the quality slider at 92-95% for virtually indistinguishable results. For zero quality loss, convert to PNG instead.
